High Hike

When you’re surrounded by mountains there is only one thing to do – go hiking up them! This day will be lead by an experienced hike leader and will take you up to some of the high spots around Kandersteg. It may even include the use of a cable car to give you that helping hand.

Expect some fantastic views (weather permitting) and some tired Scouts at the end of the day.

Explore Kandersteg Day

A chance to explore Kandersteg village – with all these mountains and alpine challenges it easy to overlook the village itself which would be a shame.

Kandersteg is a fantastic village with lots of attractions – a charming church, the Scouting museum, a swimming pool and gift shops to name just a few.

Oeschinensee

High above Kandersteg village you’ll find Oeschinensee, a glacial fed alpine lake. Its a brilliant place to visit and explore. From the village you can hike or take the cable car to reach the lake. Once there you can paddle in the lake, enjoy an ice cream or take a ride on the rodelbahn.

Above the lake are two of Kandersteg’s mountain huts and the glacier that feeds the lake.

International Campfire

Scouts from all over the globe gather in Kandersteg and share their songs, sketches and dances around the campfire. A magical night. Why not practise a sketch before KIX so you can share it on the night?

Aare River Cruise

Float past stunning alpine scenery towards the picturesque city of Bern on a 16-seat raft on the River Aare Float Cruise. The river is gentle and refreshing on a hot day – so enjoy a bit of a swim and a splash.

High Ropes Interlaken

We hope you’ve got a head for heights when you visit the high ropes course in Interlaken. HIgh in the tree tops a variety of routes and obstacles the course provides a challenge for everyone.

Jungfraujoch

Visit the top of Europe. The majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau summits, together with close-up views of the longest glacial flow. The Jungfrau railway travels from the heart of the mountains to Europe’s highest lying mountain station at 3454 meter altitude.

It might be a pricey option but for those with a desire for altitude it can’t be beaten.

Blausee

Visit the picturesque crystal clear lake, Blausee, and explore the nature park. In 1885 Blausee was praised in a travel guide as a “jewel of a landscape immersed in magical forest solitude”.

THe lake can be reached by bus or by hiking along the Kandersteg valley.

Chocolate and Cheese

Experience two of Switzerland’s most famous food exports – you’ll visit a real chocolate factory in Broc and then travel to Gruyères, the Cheese capital of Switzerland. A fantastic day of Swiss culinary culture.

Brigabad

In the open-air thermal baths of Brigerbad each guest finds a suitable offer. Europe’s longest alpine thermal waterslide beckons to children and adventure seekers. The thermal pool (34-37°C), with its numerous under water massage jets, and the grotto swimming pool, invite visitors to come and spend some time in this water world. Daredevils jump from rocks above the sports pool (28-30°C) into the water. The flow of the current guides bathers in the river pool (29-30 °C).

Guests who like water slides must not miss the 182-meter-long slide. The Olympic Pool (24-26°C) with four 50-meter-long lanes and a children’s swimming pool (34-37°C) complete the offering.
